Choosing a suitable LED driver for your lighting needs can be a tedious and confusing undertaking due to a great number of choices available in the market.

Typically, you can simplify your selection process by identifying your application requirements. Check if you have space restrictions. What is the shape and size of your lighting fixture? What features do you need?

We have created a guide below so you can easily navigate our available Sunricher Compact Constant Current DALI-2 LED drivers with NFC feature.

But before that, why pick Sunricher LED drivers?

Benefits of Using Sunricher LED Drivers

Like ADM, Sunricher is an ISO 9001:2015 certified company, which demonstrates that their products were tested, and have passed international industry standards.

Sunricher LED drivers also have the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM), indicating conformity with Australian electrical safety standards AS/NZS 4417.1 & 2 and the EESS.

Other features of Sunricher LED drivers
  • DALI-2 certified – compatible with DALI-certified luminaires, equipped with DALI-2 features

  • DT6 (Device Type 6) – compatible with universal DALI masters with DT6 commands – for smooth and deep dimming

  • NFC (Near Field Communication) programmable (read more about this feature below)

  • Constant Current

  • Compact – fits small spaces

  • Available in round and rectangular shapes – to cater for downlights, bathroom lights, landscape lighting, pendant lights, and more.

What is DALI-2?

Digital Addressable Lighting Interface 2 or DALI-2 is the certification built upon the DALI technology. Both DALI and DALI-2 are lighting protocols that enable consumers like you the freedom to choose any DALI and DALI-2 certified products for guaranteed compatibility with other DALI-certified products.

The DALI-2 standard differs from DALI by providing enhanced features on top of two-way communication between lights, sensors, and other network lighting control devices.

What is NFC, and How Does it Work with Sunricher LED Drivers?

NFC, as the term implies, is a short-range wireless data transmission technology that allows communication between devices near each other – usually up to 10cm. The principle behind NFC technology is reading the data from a pre-programmed tag, to communicate it to the other NFC-enabled gadget.

For LED drivers, this means that you can program the setting of the lighting feature in your device, such as a phone or tablet, then use your device to alter the settings of your lighting.

You can do this in three easy steps with Sunricher LED drivers:
  • Step 1: Tap your phone to the LED driver (the LED driver does not have to be connected to mains/power source and to the lighting item).

  • Step 2: Configure light settings on your phone and then save it.

  • Step 3: Tap your phone again to the LED driver to communicate your configuration.

You can create and save multiple scenes in your phone that your LED driver can transmit to the associated luminaire. This eliminates manually opening lighting covers or setting up dip switches.

If you don’t want to go through the hassle of setting it all up, contact us and we can do it for you! We have all Sunricher models in stock and can supply them immediately.

What Constant Current Means in LED Drivers

Constant current is a type of direct current (DC) that does not change its level or power with time. When constant current is applied to LED drivers, it means that the LED driver has a fixed output current, usually measured in ampere (A) or milliampere (mA).

A constant current LED driver provides consistent brightness, is less likely to overheat and break down due to overheating, and has optimised performance and durability.

Not to be mistaken for constant voltage (CV) or used in place of CV LED drivers. The type of driver required very much depends on the design of the luminaire or strip. If you are unsure, contact us so we can suggest a suitable driver.
